Sewer Scope Inspection
Simple & Easy Report. Video Footage of Sewer Line. Recommendations and Next Steps.

What is a Sewer Scope Inspection?
Our Sewer Scope Inspection utilizes mini-video cameras to evaluate the condition and function of a property’s sewer line. This process allows us to see issues that are not visible from the surface, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of your sewer system.
A Video is Worth a Thousand Words
During the inspection, we insert a video line through the waste pipes. This video line extends down branch lines (pipes leading from bathtubs and faucets) or directly into the main sewer line, allowing our inspector to view the line in real-time detail. The video line is equipped with a distance tracker, enabling us to pinpoint the estimated location of any blockages.
What's Included?
Our Sewer Scope Inspection evaluates the line from the clean-out to the city main sewer line. We check for common issues such as tree roots, holes, pooling, cracks, and pipe separation. If we find problems, we provide you with a video, report, and specific recommendations for next steps.
Why You Need a Sewer Scope Inspection
Many buyers overlook the importance of inspecting sewer lines, but it’s crucial for making informed decisions. A thorough inspection can reveal existing problems or potential issues that need to be addressed before purchasing a property. Our inspection will show whether the line is clean or clogged and if any repairs are necessary, including information about the materials used in the sewer line construction and any issues found.
When is a Sewer Scope Necessary?
Due to the underground nature of sewer lines, a functioning bathroom does not guarantee a healthy sewer line. Older homes, especially those with concrete, iron, or clay pipes, are particularly susceptible to damage from tree roots and other issues. Performing a sewer scope inspection can save you from costly repairs after purchase, as any necessary maintenance is the responsibility of the owner.
How is a Sewer Scope Inspection Performed?
A standard sewer scope inspection for a single-family residence takes approximately 30-45 minutes. It can be included as part of a comprehensive home inspection or performed as a standalone service. The inspection begins at the cleanout, which is usually located near where the sewer line exits the home. Our technician inserts a mini video camera into the line and runs it through to the main municipal sewer line. If no obstructions are found, the property is deemed clear. If issues are detected, their approximate location can be pinpointed for repairs.
